Little Hugs brings Smiles to Victimized Children
West Palm Beach, Fla. (June 7, 2017)
Center for Family Services (CFS) of Palm Beach County received a generous donation of stuffed animals from The Ryan Batchelder Foundation. “There is a lot of synergy between the two nonprofits,” said Meg Batchelder founder of The Ryan Batchelder Foundaton. “We give new stuffed animals to children who need comfort, letting them know that even strangers care. We believe the gift of something to cuddle provides security and demonstrates compassion that is healing to a hurting heart.”
The stuffed animals will be used during therapy for clients in the SAFE Kids Program (Stop Abuse by Family Empowerment). SAFE Kids specializes in treating victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, bullying, domestic violence, witnesses to domestic violence, and treatment of sexually reactive children. It is the only officially-recognized provider of such treatment in Palm Beach County.
“We are grateful for every donation we receive, and especially grateful for the Little Hugs program and The Ryan Batchelder Foundation. Our young clients get a sense of security, trust, and encouragement from receiving a gift of their very own which they can bring to and from their sessions” said Karen Hilo, Chief Executive Officer of CFS. “We are thankful for the partnership with The Ryan Batchelder Foundation and feel confident we are helping to further both the mission of CFS and the mission of the Little Hugs program which is to inspire hope and give love to children who are facing significant life challenges,” said Karen.
