Little Hugs for Bahamian Children Displaced After Hurricane Dorian
We traveled to Nassau with suitcases filled with Little Hugs to comfort children traumatized from the category 5 hurricane that hit the Bahamian Islands. These children had been living in orphanages and emergency shelters in Freeport that were devastated by the storm. We were grateful to be able to engage and hold the children while they received medical treatment by US pediatricians volunteering. Most of the children were sick with all kinds of illnesses, including severe ear infections and pink eye.
